Hi and welcome to my new blog!
For those of you who don’t know me personally—hi. I’m Lawren Johnson. Wife to Brandon, mom to Noel, Norah, and Silas.
I run an off-market real estate business that buys homes as-is, and I hope to share more about what that process looks like through my writing here. The stories I’ve encountered over the years while learning this business have changed me for the better. My husband works for the local city during the week and helps me negotiate offers at night and on the weekends. There’s really not much he can’t do—and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
In the twelve years we’ve been married, we’ve moved four times. We have a family dog named Zep… and we homeschool.
I’ve wanted to start a blog for some time now, because writing and words are comforting to me. This last move nearly took my nervous system out, and the overstimulation of social media has felt like a lot to process. I know so many of you can relate.
My relationship with social media changed deeply after having kids—and especially after 2020. While my accounts are necessary for certain types of connection and for our off-market real estate business, a blog feels different to me. It feels more intimate. More like a safe landing place to invite you to get to know me, rather than a constant broadcast to the world.
As I write this, I’m sitting in the corner of my kitchen in a rental home in South Patrick Shores, Florida. It’s before the sun comes up. Two of my kids are on the couch watching Home Alone—one is sick, the other awake because the coughing started early. The baby is peacefully unbothered in his bed.
How I ended up in a rental home within walking distance of the shore is a story for another time. But this most recent move has helped me focus deeply on what God has taught me about living a life of transition. This season has forced me to simplify and trust.
I wanted to create a space where I could share what I’ve learned about homes—yes, physical places—but also about the people around you. About moving forward in faith without knowing the next step. About building a business intentionally, in a way that creates peace rather than angst.
My life has always looked like dreaming, forming ideas, creatively pursuing them, and asking God what He wanted me to do along the way.
My hope is to share more of those stories and moments with you—to help strengthen your own muscles of trust—so that if you have a crazy idea you can’t get off your mind, it just might be what God is asking you to do. And it may work out better than you ever imagined.
Until next time – LJ
